Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your appointment.
01.How do I book an appointment?+
Choose a treatment, package, date and time on the "Book Now" page. Your appointment is confirmed instantly and you'll receive a confirmation email with all the details.
02.Do I need to pay online?+
No. Payment is made in person at the clinic, by cash or card, after your treatment.
03.Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?+
Yes. Your confirmation email includes a manage-booking link, you'll be asked for a one-time code (OTP) sent to your email, so only you can reschedule or cancel your appointment.
04.How many laser hair-removal sessions do I need?+
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on the area, hair density and thickness, skin type and other individual factors. A course of around 6–8 sessions is usually needed for a significant, long-lasting reduction in hair growth, though some cases may need more.
With the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm, the treatment effectively targets the hair's melanin and is applied according to the characteristics of each area and each skin.
After the initial course is complete, maintenance sessions may be needed, depending on how your body responds and how hair regrows over time.
05.How often should I have a laser hair-removal session?+
Sessions are usually spaced every 4–6 weeks, especially for a full-body course. This interval matters because laser works best on hair that's in its active growth phase.
As the sessions progress, hair growth gradually decreases and hair becomes finer and sparser. Because of this, the interval between sessions may be adjusted depending on the area, how quickly hair regrows, and how your body responds.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic, the session schedule is built individually, so each session happens at the right time for the most effective treatment of unwanted hair.
06.Can laser work on areas with peach fuzz / fine hair?+
Yes, laser can be effective on finer hair too, as long as there's enough melanin in the hair for the laser energy to be absorbed. The response depends on the hair's color, thickness and density, as well as skin type.
With the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm, treatment parameters are adjusted individually to the characteristics of the skin and hair, for effective, safe treatment of unwanted hair.
On areas with fine hair, it's especially important to keep to the recommended session schedule and the correct spacing between sessions. Consistency helps treat hairs that are in the right growth phase and gradually reduce hair growth.
That said, not every type of fine hair is suitable for laser. For very fine or very light-colored hair, effectiveness can be limited. That's why the area is always assessed before starting treatment, to determine whether laser is the right choice.
With the right assessment, suitable settings and consistent sessions, we can achieve a significant, long-lasting reduction in unwanted hair.
07.I have blonde hair. Is laser effective?+
How effective laser is on blonde hair mainly depends on how much melanin the hair contains. The more pigment in the hair, the better the response to treatment usually is.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic we use the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm and adjust treatment parameters individually based on hair color, thickness and density, as well as skin characteristics.
Being able to fine-tune settings lets us choose the right protocol for each case, aiming for the best possible result from every session. This matters especially for finer or lighter-colored hair, where getting the parameters right plays a decisive role.
Compared to older technologies or other types of laser, the DEKA Motus AX's modern technology gives us more flexibility in adapting treatment to each skin and hair type.
That said, on very light, white or gray hair, where there's minimal or no melanin, the response to laser is limited. That's why the area and hair are always assessed first.
Our goal isn't to apply the same protocol to everyone, but to adapt the treatment to each individual, to get the most out of the technology.
08.Should I shave before a session? What do I do if hair appears in between sessions?+
Before every laser session, the area should be shaved, ideally the day before. Shaving cuts the hair at the skin's surface without affecting the follicle, and it does not make hair thicker, stronger or denser.
Between sessions, when possible, we prefer that you don't shave the area as soon as the first hairs appear. This way, at your next visit we get a clearer picture of where and how much hair has regrown. That picture helps us assess how each area is responding and, where needed, adjust the next session's protocol individually.
The day before your next session, the area is shaved as normal, so the skin is properly prepared for treatment.
If you need to shave earlier for comfort or practicality, you can do so without worrying that you'll "make the hair stronger." That said, we avoid methods that remove hair from the root, such as waxing, tweezing or epilating, during the course of your sessions.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic, no two sessions follow one fixed, predetermined protocol. We assess how hair growth is progressing and adjust the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm's parameters to the needs of each area and each person, aiming for the best possible result.
09.I've been doing laser for years and still haven't cleared up. Why?+
If you've been having laser hair removal for years and still have noticeable hair growth, that doesn't necessarily mean laser can't work for you. The response is affected by many factors, hair color, thickness and density, skin phototype, body area, the interval between sessions, the parameters used, but also hormonal and other biological factors.
With hormonal imbalances or increased hormonal activity, new hairs can appear over time, even in areas that had responded well to treatment. In these cases, laser can still significantly reduce existing hair growth, but addressing the underlying factor matters too.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic we use the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm, a modern technology that lets us fine-tune treatment parameters with great precision to each case's characteristics. The Alexandrite 755 nm is a particularly effective choice for absorbing energy through the hair's melanin, and the ability to individualize parameters lets us adapt treatment as hair growth changes.
So when someone has had many sessions without the result they expected, that doesn't mean they simply need more sessions the same way. We reassess the case, look at the possible factors affecting the response, and design an individualized protocol with the DEKA Motus AX, aiming to get the most out of the technology.
It's also worth knowing that laser offers a long-lasting, significant reduction in hair growth, not a guaranteed disappearance of every hair. In some cases, maintenance sessions may be needed.
Have you been doing laser for years without the result you expected? You might not just need more sessions. You need a proper assessment, the right technology, and a genuinely individualized protocol.
10.What about laser in the summer? Can I continue my sessions?+
Yes, laser hair removal can continue through the summer, even on tanned skin. The DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm with Moveo technology is designed to be used on every skin phototype, including tanned skin.
One of the major advantages of Moveo technology is that energy is delivered through the special handpiece in successive passes at lower fluence, allowing the target to heat up gradually. The technology is designed to reduce energy losses from reflection at the skin's surface and to allow effective treatment even on darker phototypes.
Of course, tanned skin doesn't mean burnt or irritated skin. We don't treat skin that has sunburn, significant irritation or other recent damage. Skin condition is assessed before every session and parameters are adjusted individually.
This is also one of the DEKA Motus AX's key advantages over older technologies: we don't need to treat every client with the same protocol. We adjust parameters based on phototype, tan level, the area and the hair's characteristics, to achieve the best possible result with the highest possible safety.
So you don't necessarily need to pause your hair-removal program over the summer. With the DEKA Motus AX, in suitable cases, we can continue your sessions as normal even on tanned skin.
11.Can laser be done over a tattoo?+
No, we don't apply laser hair removal directly over a tattoo. Tattoo pigment can absorb the laser's energy and significantly increase the risk of unwanted skin reactions, such as significant irritation or burns, and the tattoo's own appearance could be affected too.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic, the tattooed area is protected and laser is applied only to the skin around it, with particular care taken to avoid any overlap.
This is part of our individualized approach: before every session we assess the area, phototype, hair growth and any particularities of the skin, and adjust the treatment protocol accordingly.
Have a tattoo in the area you want treated? No problem. The tattoo simply stays protected while we precisely treat the hair around it.
12.What should I avoid before and after each laser session?+
Proper preparation and aftercare matter both for your skin's safety and for the best possible result.
Before the session:
- Shaving: The area is shaved the day before the session.
- Waxing, tweezing or epilating: Avoid for at least 2–4 weeks before the session, since these remove hair from the root, which laser needs as its target.
- Intense sun exposure and tanning beds: Avoid before the session. Always let our team know if you've had recent significant sun exposure.
- Exfoliants, peels and irritant active ingredients: Avoid in the days before, following the individual guidance we give you.
- On the day of the session: The area should be clean, with no creams, oils, perfume or deodorant.
After the session:
- Hot baths, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi: Avoid for 24–48 hours.
- Intense exercise and activities that cause heavy sweating: Avoid for 48 hours.
- Swimming pools: Avoid for 48 hours, especially if the skin is still irritated.
- Peeling, scrubs and other exfoliating products: Avoid for about 3–5 days, or until the skin has fully calmed down.
- Rubbing or scratching the area: Avoid for 24–48 hours.
- Intense direct sun exposure: Avoid after the session, and use SPF 50+ sun protection on exposed areas. The exact protection period is adjusted depending on the area and skin condition.
Some mild irritation around the follicles for a few hours after treatment is normal. If you experience significant irritation, blistering or any unusual reaction (extremely rare), contact us immediately.
At Kaiser Derma Clinic, instructions aren't the same for everyone. We take into account phototype, tan level, the area and how your skin reacts, and individually adjust the protocol and the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm's parameters.
In short: proper preparation, correct time intervals and an individualized protocol are the key to safe, effective treatment.
13.Does laser hair removal hurt?+
With the DEKA Motus AX Alexandrite 755 nm, laser hair removal is much more comfortable than what many patients experienced with older Alexandrite systems.
The difference comes from Moveo technology, which delivers energy to the area in a controlled, gradual way, combined with built-in handpiece cooling. This spreads the heat more evenly and makes treatment far more tolerable, without sacrificing effectiveness.
Most clients feel mild warmth or small, brief tingling, rather than the intense sensation that could come with older Alexandrite technologies. The sensation can vary depending on the area, hair density and thickness, and individual sensitivity.
Importantly, at Kaiser Derma Clinic we don't use one fixed energy level for everyone. We adjust the DEKA Motus AX's parameters to each client's phototype, area, hair and response, to achieve the best possible balance between effectiveness and comfort.
DEKA Motus AX: the effectiveness of the Alexandrite 755 nm, with a far more comfortable treatment experience.
